Skincare Product Safety & Ingredients Policy

A complete, transparent account of how MYFIOR verifies authenticity, discloses ingredients, and safeguards product safety for every skincare item sourced from Korea and sold at myfior.com — written so you know exactly what's in your routine and where it came from.

Last Updated: July 14, 2026 Effective: July 14, 2026 Applies to all skincare, hair care & body care products sold at myfior.com
Section 01

Purpose of This Policy

This Skincare Product Safety & Ingredients Policy explains, in plain language, how MYFIOR ("MYFIOR," "we," "us," or "our") verifies the authenticity of the Korean beauty products we import and sell, discloses ingredient information, and supports the safe use, storage, and handling of every skincare, hair care, and body care item available at myfior.com (the "Site"). It works alongside our Disclaimer & Product Liability Policy, Shipping Policy, Return Policy, and Privacy Policy to give every visitor a complete, transparent picture of what we sell and how we stand behind it.

Because MYFIOR specializes in imported K-Beauty products, we've built this page specifically to answer the questions customers ask us most: is it authentic, what's in it, how should I store it, and how do I know it's fresh. If anything below is unclear, contact us at [email protected] before placing an order.

Section 02

Product Classification

MYFIOR is a US-based online retailer offering curated Korean skincare, hair care, body care, and makeup products from brands including Anua, Beauty of Joseon, COSRX, Illiyoon, SKIN1004, Torriden, Jumiso, Mixsoon, Farm Stay, and dozens of other established K-Beauty and international brands. We are a retailer and authorized reseller of finished, pre-manufactured cosmetic products; we do not manufacture, reformulate, repackage, or relabel the items we sell, and every product reaches you in the same packaging and formulation in which it left the manufacturer.

Every product listed on the Site is classified and sold strictly as a cosmetic, as that term is defined by the U.S. Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) — meaning it is intended to cleanse, beautify, moisturize, promote attractiveness, or alter the appearance of the skin or hair, without affecting the body's structure or function in the manner of a drug. Where a manufacturer's own regulatory status designates a specific item (such as certain sunscreens) as an OTC drug-cosmetic hybrid under FDA rules, we identify that on the relevant product page.

Section 03

How We Ensure Product Authenticity & Safety

Authenticity is the foundation of the MYFIOR business model, and we treat it as a safety issue, not just a brand promise. Counterfeit or diverted cosmetics can contain undisclosed, unsafe, or mislabeled ingredients, so every product on our Site is sourced through channels designed to eliminate that risk:

  • Direct-from-Korea sourcing: We import the substantial majority of our catalog directly from the originating Korean brand, its official export distributor, or another manufacturer-authorized wholesale partner — not from unverified secondary marketplaces.
  • Authorized distributor vetting: Before we onboard any new brand or distributor relationship, we confirm the supplier's authorization to distribute the specific products and SKUs we intend to sell.
  • Sealed, unopened, manufacturer packaging: Products ship to us in their original, factory-sealed manufacturer packaging and are inspected on arrival for tampering, damage, or inconsistency before being added to inventory.
  • No grey-market or expired inventory: We do not knowingly purchase, list, or sell counterfeit, expired, water-damaged, heat-damaged, or "grey market" diverted goods of unknown origin.
  • Ongoing supplier review: Supplier relationships are periodically reassessed, and any distributor unable to demonstrate authorized sourcing is removed from our supply chain.
Section 04

Testing & Certification Standards

MYFIOR does not manufacture products and therefore does not independently re-test finished formulations in-house. Instead, we rely on — and pass through to you — the testing, certification, and safety-substantiation work performed by the manufacturing brand, which is the party responsible under both Korean and U.S. law for product safety substantiation:

  • Korean regulatory compliance: Cosmetics manufactured in South Korea are produced under the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) cosmetics framework, which requires Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) production standards and ingredient safety review before a product may be sold domestically or exported.
  • Brand-disclosed testing claims: Where a manufacturer states that a product is dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, non-comedogenic, or clinically tested, we display that claim on the product page exactly as substantiated and labeled by the brand, and we do not add or embellish testing claims beyond what the manufacturer discloses.
  • Facility-level manufacturing standards: Many of the brands we carry manufacture in ISO 22716 (Cosmetics GMP) certified facilities; where a brand publishes this information, we make it available to customers on request.
  • No independent safety claims by MYFIOR: MYFIOR does not perform, commission, or claim to perform its own clinical, dermatological, or laboratory testing of any product. All testing-related claims on our Site originate from and remain the responsibility of the manufacturing brand.
Section 05

Ingredient Sourcing & Full Transparency

Every product page on myfior.com lists the manufacturer-provided full ingredient list, presented using International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) naming, along with country of origin where supplied by the brand. This information is transcribed directly from the manufacturer's packaging and official product data — we do not summarize, omit, or reorder ingredient lists in a way that would obscure their actual content.

Because formulations are occasionally updated by manufacturers between production runs, the physical packaging you receive is the controlling source of truth for a product's ingredients. We recommend checking the ingredient list printed on your physical product against your personal allergen list before first use, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or managing a diagnosed skin condition or known allergy. If a product arrives with an ingredient list that differs materially from what is shown on our Site, please contact us at [email protected] so we can investigate and correct the listing.

Section 06

Hypoallergenic & Sensitive-Skin Claims

"Hypoallergenic" describes a lower statistical likelihood of allergic reaction — it is not a guarantee that a product cannot cause a reaction in any individual.

Where a product page displays a "hypoallergenic," "fragrance-free," "sensitive-skin," or similar claim, that language is sourced directly from the manufacturer's own labeling or brand-published product data — it is not a claim MYFIOR independently formulates or verifies through its own testing. The term "hypoallergenic" has no single standardized legal definition or mandatory FDA testing protocol in the United States; it generally indicates that a manufacturer has selected ingredients or formulated the product with the intent of reducing allergen exposure, not that the product is allergen-free for every user.

If you have a known allergy or diagnosed sensitivity, always cross-check the printed ingredient list against your allergen list rather than relying on a marketing claim alone, and perform a patch test as described in Section 08 before full use.

Section 07

FDA & Federal Regulatory Compliance

MYFIOR ships exclusively within the United States and markets its full catalog in a manner consistent with:

  • The Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act), which governs how cosmetics may be labeled, described, and sold in the United States.
  • The Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA), which introduced facility registration, product listing, ingredient and fragrance-allergen disclosure, adverse-event record-keeping, and safety-substantiation requirements applicable to cosmetic manufacturers and "responsible persons."
  • The Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA), governing accurate net-content, identity, and ingredient labeling on consumer commodities.
  • Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidance on truthful advertising, substantiated claims, and disclosure requirements for customer testimonials and reviews.

We do not list, describe, or advertise any product using disease claims or structure/function claims that would cause it to be regulated as an unapproved new drug rather than a cosmetic. Where a manufacturer's own packaging includes language beyond cosmetic use, our product listings are edited to remove or qualify that language before publication. If you believe any listing on our Site overstates what a cosmetic product may legally do, please report it to [email protected] for prompt review.

Section 08

Patch Testing & Allergic Reactions

Skincare products contain active botanical, chemical, and fragrance ingredients that can trigger sensitivity, irritation, or allergic reaction in some individuals, even when a product is correctly manufactured, authentic, and used as directed. We strongly recommend that every customer perform a 24–48 hour patch test on a small, discreet area of skin (such as the inner forearm) before applying any new product — especially active treatments such as retinoids, acids, or vitamin C serums — to the face.

Discontinue use immediately and rinse thoroughly with water if you experience redness, itching, burning, swelling, hives, or any other sign of irritation. If a reaction is severe, spreading, or persistent, seek medical attention promptly. MYFIOR cannot predict or guarantee how any individual's skin will respond to a given product, and is not liable for allergic or sensitivity reactions that occur despite a product being authentic, correctly labeled, undamaged, and used as intended.

Section 09

Proper Storage Instructions

Correct storage protects both product performance and your safety. To help every formula stay stable and effective:

  • Store products at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, radiators, and other heat sources — many active ingredients (vitamin C, retinoids, certain acids) degrade faster with heat and light exposure.
  • Keep containers, pumps, and caps tightly closed between uses to limit air and moisture exposure, which can destabilize actives and encourage bacterial growth.
  • Avoid storing skincare in a bathroom subject to frequent heat and humidity swings if the product packaging does not specifically indicate resistance to that environment; a bedroom drawer or vanity away from direct light is generally preferable.
  • Keep all products out of reach of children and pets, and avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or broken/irritated skin unless a product is specifically labeled for that use.
  • Wash hands or use a clean applicator before dipping into jar-packaged products to avoid introducing contaminants.
  • Discard, rather than resell, gift, or continue using, any product that shows signs of separation, discoloration, an off odor, or packaging damage.
Section 10

Shelf Life & Expiration Information

Most cosmetic packaging carries two related but distinct pieces of dating information, and we encourage every customer to understand both:

1

Period-After-Opening (PAO)

The small open-jar icon printed on packaging (e.g., "12M" or "6M") shows how many months a product remains suitable for use after it is first opened, assuming proper storage.

2

Manufacture / Expiration Date

Many Korean-manufactured products display a manufacture date or "best used by" date, often near the batch code, reflecting unopened shelf stability set by the brand.

3

General Unopened Shelf Life

Unopened, properly stored cosmetics typically remain stable for roughly two to three years from manufacture, though this varies by formula and is set by the manufacturer, not MYFIOR.

Both dates are set exclusively by the manufacturer based on formulation stability testing; MYFIOR does not alter, remove, extend, or estimate expiration information. Discontinue use of any product once it has passed its PAO or expiration date, or if its color, texture, or smell has noticeably changed, even before that date.

Section 11

Batch Codes & Manufacturing Traceability

Nearly every product we sell arrives with a manufacturer-printed batch code (also called a lot number), typically found on the bottom or side of the primary packaging or crimped onto a tube seam. This code identifies the specific production run a unit came from and is the manufacturer's tool for quality control, traceability, and recall management.

MYFIOR does not remove, alter, or obscure manufacturer batch codes on any product we sell. Keeping your batch code visible and legible after purchase is useful because it allows both MYFIOR and the manufacturing brand to trace a specific unit back to its production date and facility if a quality concern or manufacturer recall arises. If you contact us about a product safety concern, having your batch code on hand will help us investigate faster.

Section 12

How Customers Can Verify Product Authenticity

We want every customer to be able to independently confirm that what they received is genuine. Here's how:

1

Check the Batch Code

Locate the batch/lot code on your product and, where the brand offers a public manufacture-date decoder or official verification tool, cross-check it against your packaging.

2

Inspect Packaging & Seals

Genuine, freshly imported product arrives with intact factory seals, crisp printing, and packaging consistent with official brand imagery. Contact us about anything that looks altered.

3

Compare Ingredient Lists

Match the INCI ingredient list on your product to the list shown on our product page or the brand's official listing for that exact SKU and size.

4

Ask Us Directly

Email us your order number and product name at [email protected] and we will confirm the specific supplier lot your unit shipped from.

If you ever have a genuine concern that a product you received is not authentic, contact us immediately with your order number, product name, and photos of the packaging and batch code. We investigate every report and will replace or refund a unit that we cannot confirm as authentic.

Section 13

Who Should Take Extra Care

Our products are formulated and marketed for general adult and adolescent cosmetic use, and purchases through the Site should be made by individuals who are 18 years of age or older, or by a parent or guardian purchasing on behalf of a minor. Certain categories carry additional considerations:

  • Pregnancy & nursing: Some active ingredients commonly found in K-Beauty treatment products (certain retinoids/retinol, high-percentage exfoliating acids such as AHA/BHA, and specific essential oils) are commonly advised against during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you are pregnant or nursing, review the full ingredient list of any active treatment product with your physician before use.
  • Sun-exposure products: Sunscreens and SPF-containing products should be applied generously and reapplied as directed on the label, and are not a substitute for shade, protective clothing, and other sun-safety measures.
  • Active treatment products: Exfoliating acids, retinol-based treatments, and vitamin C serums can increase skin sensitivity to sunlight; daytime sun protection is recommended whenever these are used, and we recommend introducing only one new active ingredient at a time.
  • Diagnosed skin conditions: If you have eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, active acne under treatment, or are recovering from a cosmetic or dermatological procedure, consult a board-certified dermatologist before introducing new products.
Section 14

Individual Results May Vary

Skin type, genetics, climate, lifestyle, product combination, and consistency of use all affect how a skincare product performs. Any "before and after" imagery, customer testimonial, star rating, or performance description shown on our Site or the manufacturer's marketing reflects individual experience and is not a guarantee that you will achieve the same or similar results. MYFIOR does not promise specific cosmetic outcomes, timelines, or permanence of results for any product, and no product description, blog article, or review on this Site is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

Section 15

State-Specific Consumer Safety Notices

MYFIOR ships exclusively within the United States. Because consumer protection and product safety standards vary by state, the notices below apply to residents of the states listed, in addition to — not instead of — this policy in its entirety.

California

Proposition 65: Some cosmetic products can expose users to trace chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Where a manufacturer provides a Prop 65 notice for a product, we display it on the relevant product page. As our principal place of business, California's consumer protection and cosmetics-labeling statutes govern many of our customer-facing practices.

New York

New York General Business Law Article 22-A prohibits deceptive acts and practices in consumer transactions. We do not make ingredient, safety, or testing claims that would mislead a reasonable consumer, and New York residents retain all rights available under state deceptive-practices law.

Texas

The Texas Deceptive Trade Practices–Consumer Protection Act (DTPA) protects consumers from false, misleading, or deceptive advertising, including ingredient and safety claims. Texas residents retain all remedies available under the DTPA.

Florida

The Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) applies to our advertising and sales practices toward Florida residents, alongside Florida's product-liability framework for defective consumer products.

Washington

The Washington Consumer Protection Act (CPA) prohibits unfair or deceptive acts in commerce. We do not condition any sale on a customer waiving rights available under the CPA.

All Other States

If you reside in a state not listed above, you retain all consumer protection, product safety, and product liability rights afforded to you under the laws of your state of residence. Nothing in this policy limits those statutory rights.

Section 16

Product Recalls & Safety Alerts

Manufacturer safety data sheets, formal recall notices, and adverse-event reporting obligations remain the responsibility of the original brand under both Korean MFDS regulation and, for products sold in the U.S., MoCRA. Where we are notified by a brand of a recall or safety alert affecting a product we have sold, MYFIOR will:

  • Remove the affected product from active sale on the Site promptly.
  • Notify affected customers we can identify from our order records, using the email address associated with the relevant order.
  • Provide clear instructions for return, refund, or safe disposal of the affected product as directed by the manufacturer.

You can also check for open FDA cosmetic recalls at any time via the FDA's public recall database at fda.gov/cosmetics.

Section 17

Reporting a Safety Concern or Adverse Reaction

If you experience an adverse reaction, notice a quality issue, or have any doubt about the authenticity of a product purchased from myfior.com, please contact us at [email protected] or +1 650-284-1881 as soon as possible. To help us investigate quickly, please include:

  • Your order number and the product name.
  • The batch/lot code printed on the packaging, if visible.
  • A description of what happened and, for skin reactions, photos if you're comfortable sharing them.
  • Whether you are still in possession of the product and its original packaging.

Significant adverse events may also be reportable directly to the FDA's MedWatch / cosmetics adverse event system, and we're happy to help you find the right reporting channel if needed. For a serious or worsening reaction, please seek medical attention rather than waiting on a response from us.

Section 18

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this Skincare Product Safety & Ingredients Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our product catalog, supplier relationships, applicable law, or business practices. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site or purchase of products after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
