Purpose of This Policy
This Allergen Information Policy explains, in plain language, how MYFIOR ("MYFIOR," "we," "us," or "our") identifies and communicates common cosmetic allergens, how you can access the complete ingredient information for any product before you buy it, and what MYFIOR expects from customers who have known allergies or sensitivities. It works alongside our Skincare Product Safety & Ingredients Policy, Disclaimer & Product Liability Policy, and Privacy Policy at myfior.com (the "Site").
We wrote this page because allergies are personal and the stakes of getting it wrong are real. Our commitment is straightforward: label common allergens clearly wherever we can, make full ingredient information easy to find, and give you what you need to make your own informed decision before you purchase. If anything below is unclear, contact us at [email protected] before placing an order.
What We Mean by "Allergen" in This Policy
Cosmetic allergens are ingredients that, while safe and legal for use in cosmetic formulations, are more commonly associated with skin irritation, contact dermatitis, or allergic reaction in sensitive individuals than the average ingredient. Because every person's skin chemistry is different, no ingredient is universally "safe" or universally "unsafe" — an ingredient one customer tolerates perfectly may cause a reaction in another. This policy focuses on the categories of ingredients most frequently flagged by dermatologists, allergists, and regulatory bodies as worth a second look before use.
MYFIOR sells finished, pre-manufactured Korean and international skincare, hair care, and body care products; we do not formulate or reformulate any product ourselves. Every allergen-related statement on this page and on our product pages reflects information disclosed by the manufacturing brand and printed on the physical product packaging.
Common Allergens We Flag
We pay particular attention to four categories of ingredients that are frequently associated with sensitivity or that customers most often ask us about:
Parabens
Preservatives (e.g., methylparaben, propylparaben) used to prevent bacterial and mold growth. Some customers prefer to avoid them due to sensitivity or personal preference. Where a manufacturer labels a product "paraben-free," we display that claim on the product page.
Sulfates
Cleansing agents (e.g., Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate) found in some foam cleansers and shampoos, which can be drying or irritating for sensitive or compromised skin barriers. "Sulfate-free" claims, where made by the brand, are shown on the relevant product page.
Synthetic Dyes & Colorants
Artificial colorants (often listed as "CI" numbers, e.g., CI 15850, or as FD&C/D&C color names) used to tint formulas or packaging appeal. These can trigger reactions in colorant-sensitive individuals and are always disclosed within the full ingredient list.
Fragrance / Parfum
Listed as "Fragrance," "Parfum," or specific essential oil and aromatic compound names, fragrance is one of the most common cosmetic allergy triggers. Where a manufacturer states a product is fragrance-free or contains no added fragrance, we display that on the product page (see Section 06 for more detail).
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive — cosmetic formulas can contain dozens of other ingredients that may be relevant to a specific allergy. It is not a substitute for reading the complete ingredient list of the exact product and size you intend to purchase.
How We Label & Disclose Allergen Information
We display allergen-relevant information wherever the manufacturing brand provides it to us, using a combination of methods:
- Product page callouts: Where a brand markets a product as "fragrance-free," "paraben-free," "sulfate-free," "non-comedogenic," or similar, we include that claim directly in the product description exactly as substantiated by the manufacturer.
- Ingredient highlights: Many product pages call out key active or notable ingredients relevant to that product's function and appeal, which can help you quickly spot an ingredient you already know to avoid.
- Full INCI ingredient lists: Where the manufacturer supplies it, the complete ingredient list is printed on the product's physical packaging and, for many SKUs, listed or summarized on the product page itself.
- Packaging as the definitive source: Because formulations are occasionally updated by manufacturers between production runs, the ingredient list printed on your physical product packaging always controls over any summary shown on our Site.
Not every product page currently displays a complete ingredient list. If you don't see one for a product you're considering, use the steps in Section 05 to request it before you buy.
How to Access Detailed Ingredient Lists
We want it to be genuinely easy for you to review a full ingredient list before you buy, not just after your package arrives. You have three ways to get it:
Check the Product Page
Look for the ingredients or "INCI list" section on the product's page at myfior.com — most listings include the manufacturer-supplied ingredient list or key ingredient breakdown.
Email Us Before You Order
If a product page doesn't show a full list, email [email protected] with the exact product name and size, and we will send you the complete manufacturer ingredient list before you complete your purchase.
Check the Brand's Official Source
Many of the brands we carry (Anua, COSRX, Beauty of Joseon, SKIN1004, Torriden, and others) publish full ingredient lists on their own official sites, which you're welcome to cross-reference.
We aim to respond to pre-purchase ingredient requests within one business day. Please note that once a product ships, the ingredient list printed on the physical packaging you receive is the controlling reference.
Fragrance & Essential Oil Disclosure
Fragrance deserves special attention because it is one of the most frequently reported cosmetic allergy triggers, and because "fragrance" or "parfum" on an ingredient list can represent a proprietary blend of many individual aromatic compounds that a manufacturer is not required to break out individually — with the exception of a defined list of specific fragrance allergens that U.S. and international cosmetic labeling frameworks (including the fragrance-allergen disclosure principles reflected in the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022, and internationally recognized allergen lists such as those used under EU cosmetics regulation) require to be named separately when present above a threshold concentration — for example, ingredients such as linalool, limonene, citral, geraniol, coumarin, and eugenol.
Where a manufacturer's packaging separately names one of these recognized fragrance allergens, that ingredient will appear by name in the printed ingredient list rather than being folded into the general "fragrance" or "parfum" listing. If you have a known fragrance allergy, we recommend reviewing the full ingredient list for these named allergens specifically, in addition to checking for a general "fragrance-free" claim.
Your Responsibility to Review Before Purchase
MYFIOR provides allergen and ingredient information to support your decision — reviewing that information against your own allergies is your responsibility as the purchaser.
We disclose everything the manufacturer provides to us, in the manufacturer's own language, and we make full ingredient lists available on request. However, MYFIOR is not a medical provider and cannot know your personal allergy history, so we are not able to independently screen a purchase against your specific sensitivities. Before buying, we ask that you:
- Review the full ingredient list for the exact product and size you intend to buy, not just the product name or marketing description.
- Cross-check the list against any allergies or sensitivities you or your household members have previously identified, ideally with input from a physician or allergist for known or severe allergies.
- Contact us at [email protected] before ordering if you have any doubt about whether a product contains an ingredient of concern.
- Perform a patch test (Section 10) even for products that appear allergen-free, since sensitivity can develop to any ingredient.
By completing a purchase, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to review the available ingredient and allergen information for that product.
Manufacturing & Trace Exposure Disclaimer
MYFIOR is a retailer, not a manufacturer, and we do not have visibility into every detail of a brand's production facility. Some manufacturers produce multiple product lines, including fragranced and unfragranced items, on shared equipment or within shared facilities, which can occasionally result in trace cross-contact even when it is not reflected on the ingredient label. If you have a severe or life-threatening allergy, we recommend contacting the manufacturing brand directly for facility-specific information in addition to reviewing the printed ingredient list, and discussing any high-risk purchase with your physician or allergist.
FDA & Federal Regulatory Framework
MYFIOR ships exclusively within the United States and markets its full catalog in a manner consistent with federal cosmetic labeling law, including:
- The Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act), which requires cosmetic labeling to be truthful and not misleading.
- The Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA), which introduced fragrance-allergen labeling principles, facility registration, product listing, and adverse-event record-keeping obligations for manufacturers and "responsible persons."
- The Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA), which governs how ingredients must be listed on cosmetic packaging, generally in descending order of concentration.
- Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidance requiring that claims like "paraben-free," "sulfate-free," or "fragrance-free" be truthful and substantiated by the party making them.
Allergen and ingredient safety substantiation is the legal responsibility of the manufacturing brand under this framework. MYFIOR's role is to accurately pass through the information the manufacturer provides and to make it as accessible as possible to you before purchase.
Patch Testing Recommendation
Even a product that is fragrance-free, paraben-free, and free of the allergens listed in Section 03 can still cause a reaction in an individual sensitive to some other ingredient. For that reason, we recommend a 24–48 hour patch test on a small, discreet area of skin (such as the inner forearm) before applying any new product to your face, particularly active treatments such as acids, retinoids, or vitamin C serums.
Discontinue use immediately and rinse thoroughly with water if you notice redness, itching, burning, swelling, hives, or any other sign of irritation. If a reaction is severe, spreading, or persistent, seek medical attention promptly.
Who Should Take Extra Care
- Known allergy sufferers: If you have a diagnosed cosmetic, fragrance, or ingredient allergy, always review the full ingredient list of the specific product and size before purchase, regardless of any "hypoallergenic" or "gentle" marketing language.
- Pregnancy & nursing: Some ingredients commonly advised against during pregnancy or breastfeeding (certain retinoids, high-percentage exfoliating acids, specific essential oils) are separate from allergy concerns; consult your physician before use.
- Children & minors: Our products are formulated and marketed for general adult and adolescent cosmetic use; a parent or guardian should review ingredient information before purchasing on behalf of a minor.
- Diagnosed skin conditions: If you have eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, or active dermatitis, consult a board-certified dermatologist before introducing new products, even those marketed as gentle or allergen-free.
State-Specific Consumer Notices
MYFIOR ships exclusively within the United States. Because consumer protection and product safety standards vary by state, the notices below apply to residents of the states listed, in addition to — not instead of — this policy in its entirety.
California
Proposition 65: Some cosmetic ingredients, including certain fragrance components, can expose users to trace chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Where a manufacturer provides a Prop 65 notice, we display it on the relevant product page.
New York
New York General Business Law Article 22-A prohibits deceptive acts and practices in consumer transactions. We do not make allergen-free or ingredient claims that would mislead a reasonable consumer.
Texas
The Texas Deceptive Trade Practices–Consumer Protection Act (DTPA) protects consumers from false or misleading advertising, including ingredient and allergen claims.
Florida
The Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) applies to our advertising and sales practices toward Florida residents.
Washington
The Washington Consumer Protection Act (CPA) prohibits unfair or deceptive acts in commerce, including misrepresentation of allergen content.
All Other States
If you reside in a state not listed above, you retain all consumer protection and product safety rights afforded to you under the laws of your state of residence.
Reporting an Allergic Reaction
If you experience an allergic reaction or irritation after using a product purchased from myfior.com, please contact us at [email protected] or +1 650-284-1881 as soon as possible. To help us investigate, please include your order number, the product name, the batch/lot code if visible on the packaging, and a description of the reaction. For a severe or worsening reaction, seek medical attention rather than waiting on a response from us. Significant adverse events may also be reportable directly to the FDA's cosmetics adverse-event reporting channels at fda.gov/cosmetics.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this Allergen Information Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our product catalog, supplier disclosures, applicable law, or business practices. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site or purchase of products after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
