Purpose of This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how MYFIOR ("MYFIOR," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar tracking technologies when you visit myfior.com (the "Site"), browse our Korean skincare and makeup catalog, or complete a purchase. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, and Return Policy, and is intended to give every visitor a complete, transparent picture of what data these technologies collect, why we use them, and how you can control them.
By continuing to browse the Site with cookies enabled in your browser, or by making a choice through our cookie banner where one is presented, you acknowledge how the technologies described below are used. If any part of this policy is unclear, please contact us at [email protected] at any time.
What Cookies & Similar Technologies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser or device when you visit it. Cookies let a site recognize your browser on later visits, remember choices you've made (like items sitting in your cart or which currency you're viewing prices in), and help us understand how our skincare and makeup pages are actually used.
Alongside cookies, myfior.com may also use closely related technologies that serve a similar purpose:
- Pixels & tracking tags — small, often invisible pieces of code (such as the Meta/Facebook pixel) embedded in pages or emails that report when a page was viewed or an action was taken.
- Local storage & session storage — browser-based storage used by our WooCommerce cart and catalog filters to remember your recently viewed products, wishlist, and compare list.
- Server logs — records our hosting and security providers keep of requests made to the Site, including IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
For simplicity, this policy refers to all of these collectively as "cookies."
Categories of Cookies We Use
Every cookie active on myfior.com falls into one of four categories. Essential cookies cannot be switched off because the Site cannot function without them; the remaining categories can be limited using the controls described in Section 11 or through your browser settings.
Sections 4 through 7 below explain each category in detail, including the specific cookies we use, the providers behind them, and how long each one is retained.
Essential / Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for core storefront functions like your shopping cart, checkout, and account login. They cannot be disabled without breaking the Site.
myfior.com runs on WordPress with WooCommerce. These platforms set the following cookies automatically whenever you shop with us:
| Cookie | Set By | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| woocommerce_cart_hash | WooCommerce | Detects when the contents of your cart have changed. | Session |
| woocommerce_items_in_cart | WooCommerce | Tracks whether your cart currently contains items. | Session |
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | WooCommerce | Holds a unique code so we can identify your cart across page views during checkout. | 2 days |
| wordpress_logged_in_* | WordPress | Keeps you signed in to your MYFIOR account as you browse. | Session / until logout |
| wordpress_test_cookie | WordPress | Confirms your browser accepts cookies before login is attempted. | Session |
| wp-wpml_current_language | WordPress | Remembers your selected site language, where applicable. | 1 day |
Functional & Preference Cookies
These cookies remember choices that make shopping for skincare and makeup more convenient, but the Site will still work without them — you'll simply need to re-select your preferences on future visits.
- Wishlist & Compare: remembers products you've saved to your wishlist or added to a side-by-side comparison across the Skincare and Makeup catalogs.
- Recently Viewed Products: stores a short list of the serums, toners, sunscreens, or makeup items you've recently looked at so we can show them back to you.
- Currency & Region Display: remembers how prices are displayed to you on repeat visits.
- Cookie Consent Choice: a small cookie that stores the preferences you set through our cookie banner, so we don't have to ask again on every page.
Analytics & Performance Cookies
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand which product categories, skin-type guides, and blog articles shoppers find most useful, and to identify pages that are hard to use so we can improve them.
| Cookie | Set By | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated identifier. | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics | Persists session state for Google Analytics 4 property reporting. | Up to 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors for short-term reporting. | 24 hours |
| _gat | Google Analytics | Throttles the rate of requests sent to Google Analytics. | 1 minute |
Data collected through Google Analytics is aggregated and reported to us in a form that does not directly identify you by name. Google's own use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Marketing & Advertising Cookies
We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) to measure the effectiveness of our social advertising, understand which K-Beauty products generate interest from campaigns run on Facebook and Instagram, and, where you have not opted out, show you relevant MYFIOR ads on those platforms.
| Cookie | Set By | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta Platforms, Inc. | Identifies browsers for the purpose of delivering and measuring Facebook/Instagram advertising. | 90 days |
| _fbc | Meta Platforms, Inc. | Stores information about the ad or link that referred you to the Site. | 90 days |
These cookies may be used to build a general audience profile (such as interest in Korean skincare or makeup categories) for retargeting purposes, but we do not use them to sell your personal information to unrelated third parties. See Section 13 for your rights regarding "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under applicable state law.
Third-Party Cookie Disclosure
The following third parties may set cookies on your device when you use myfior.com, each acting under its own privacy policy for the data it independently controls:
- Google LLC — Google Analytics (site performance measurement) and, where applicable, Google Ads conversion tracking.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — Meta Pixel for Facebook and Instagram advertising measurement.
- Automattic, Inc. — underlying WordPress/WooCommerce and Jetpack functionality that powers our storefront, security, and performance features.
- Payment processors (such as Stripe, PayPal, or the card networks) — fraud-prevention and session cookies set only during checkout to securely process your payment; we do not control these cookies directly.
- Our web hosting and content-delivery provider — technical cookies used to route requests securely and protect the Site against abuse.
We do not permit any third party to place cookies on the Site for purposes unrelated to operating, analyzing, securing, or advertising myfior.com. If you believe a cookie is present on the Site that is not disclosed here, please contact us at [email protected].
How Long Cookies Are Retained
Session cookies are temporary and are automatically deleted once you close your browser — these power features like your active cart. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period (ranging from 24 hours to roughly 2 years, as shown in the tables above) so that a returning visit can be recognized without asking you to reset every preference. No cookie used on myfior.com is retained indefinitely; each has a defined maximum lifespan set by the provider that issues it.
Consent & Legal Basis for Use
Essential cookies are placed automatically because the Site cannot function without them. Where our cookie banner offers a choice, functional, analytics, and marketing cookies are only activated once you have made a selection; you may change that selection at any time using the controls described in Section 11. If you are visiting from a jurisdiction that requires opt-in consent before non-essential cookies load, we honor that requirement and will not activate analytics or marketing cookies until you consent.
How to Manage or Disable Cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Our cookie banner: use the preference options presented when you first visit myfior.com to accept or decline functional, analytics, and marketing cookies.
- Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings menu — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge each publish step-by-step instructions.
- Google Analytics opt-out: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics on any site, including ours.
- Meta ad preferences: manage how Meta uses your data for advertising through your Facebook Ad Preferences.
- Industry opt-out tools: the Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance let you opt out of interest-based advertising from many providers at once.
Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent core storefront functions — such as adding items to your cart or completing checkout — from working correctly.
Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because no common industry standard for interpreting DNT signals currently exists, myfior.com does not respond differently to DNT signals at this time. We do, however, recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, to the extent required by applicable state law, when it is technically detected from your browser.
Your State Privacy Rights
MYFIOR ships exclusively within the United States. Depending on your state of residence, you may have specific statutory rights regarding cookies and the personal information they collect, including the right to know what is collected, to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising, and to delete data where legally required. These notices apply in addition to, not instead of, this policy in its entirety.
California
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information collected via analytics and advertising cookies, and may request access to or deletion of that information. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request.
Virginia
The Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA) gives Virginia residents the right to opt out of the processing of personal data for targeted advertising carried out through cookies such as our marketing pixels.
Colorado
The Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) provides Colorado residents the right to opt out of targeted advertising and the processing of personal data for profiling, including profiling based on cookie-derived browsing activity.
Connecticut
The Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA) gives Connecticut residents the right to opt out of targeted advertising cookies and to request that we limit the use of analytics data tied to them.
Utah
The Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA) provides Utah residents with the right to opt out of the use of personal data collected through cookies for targeted advertising purposes.
All Other States
If your state has enacted a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you retain any cookie-related opt-out, access, correction, or deletion rights that law affords, regardless of whether it is separately listed above. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
Cookies & Children's Privacy
myfior.com is intended for use by individuals aged 18 and older, or by a parent or guardian shopping on behalf of a minor. We do not knowingly place marketing or analytics cookies through content directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through cookies or otherwise, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] so we can address it.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies, pixels, or analytics tools we use, or to comply with new legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a revision takes effect constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
