Advertisement Claims Policy
Advertisement Claims Policy
A complete, plain-language account of how MYFIOR represents its Korean skincare and makeup products in every advertisement, listing, and promotion — so every claim you see about our products is accurate, substantiated, and easy to verify.

Purpose of This Policy
This Advertisement Claims Policy explains how MYFIOR ("MYFIOR," "we," "us," or "our") creates, reviews, and stands behind every marketing claim we make about the Korean skincare, body care, hair care, and makeup products sold on myfior.com (the "Site"). It covers the words, images, prices, and testimonials we use across our website, product listings, shopping ads, social media, email, and blog content, and describes the internal standard every advertisement must meet before it is published.
We have written this policy specifically for our own catalog and business model — it is not a generic legal template. It works alongside our Disclaimer & Product Liability Policy, Skincare Product Safety & Ingredients Policy, Allergen Information Policy, and Pricing & Promotions Policy. If any part of this policy is unclear, contact us at [email protected] before relying on a specific advertisement.
Scope & Where This Policy Applies
MYFIOR is a U.S.-based online retailer of curated Korean beauty products, headquartered in Walnut Creek, California, and we currently ship exclusively within the United States. This policy governs every channel where we advertise or describe our products, including:
- Product listing pages, category pages, and search results on myfior.com.
- Shopping ads, search ads, display ads, and remarketing ads that link to our Site.
- Our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube accounts, and any paid social campaigns run from those accounts.
- Email newsletters, cart-recovery messages, and SMS or WhatsApp marketing sent with customer consent.
- Blog articles, buying guides, and skin-type quizzes published on the Site.
- Packaging inserts, order confirmations, and any printed material we produce ourselves.
This policy does not attempt to govern the marketing claims made by the original manufacturers of the brands we resell on their own packaging or in their own country of origin; Section 9 explains how we handle manufacturer-authored claims that appear on imported packaging.
Truthful & Accurate Product Representation
Every product title, description, ingredient list, size, shade, and image published on myfior.com is written or selected to match the physical product a customer will actually receive. We do not use stock photography of a different product, a different shade, or a different net volume than what ships, and we do not digitally alter product images to exaggerate texture, color payoff, or coverage.
Where a manufacturer updates a formulation or packaging design, we update the corresponding listing on our Site as soon as we become aware of the change. If a customer receives a product whose label differs materially from what was advertised, we ask that they contact us at [email protected] so we can correct the listing and make the situation right under our Return Policy.
Availability shown on the Site (in stock, low stock, pre-order) reflects our actual inventory position at the time a page is generated, and checkout will not process an order for a quantity we cannot fulfill.
Cosmetic-Only Claims — No Drug, Medical, or Disease Claims
No advertisement, listing, or blog post published by MYFIOR claims that a product diagnoses, treats, cures, mitigates, or prevents any disease.
Every product we advertise is classified and marketed strictly as a cosmetic under the U.S. Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) — intended to cleanse, beautify, promote attractiveness, or alter appearance, without affecting the body's structure or function the way a drug would. Our copywriting deliberately avoids language that would cause a product to be regulated as an unapproved new drug, including claims of "curing" acne, "healing" eczema or rosacea, "repairing" a medical skin barrier condition, "reversing" aging at a cellular level, or "eliminating" wrinkles or scars permanently.
Where a manufacturer's own imported packaging includes wording that reads as a drug or disease claim, we rewrite our on-site listing copy to describe the product's cosmetic function only (for example, "helps visibly calm the look of redness" rather than "treats rosacea"). We follow Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidance on truthful advertising and the cosmetic-labeling requirements introduced by the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA) and the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA). If you believe any listing overstates what a cosmetic product may legally do, please report it to [email protected].
Claim Substantiation Standards
Before we publish a performance claim — for example, that a serum "visibly brightens dull skin in two weeks," that a sunscreen offers "broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection," or that a cleanser is "formulated for sensitive skin" — we verify that the claim is supported by one or more of the following: the manufacturer's own published clinical or consumer-use testing, the ingredient's generally recognized cosmetic function (such as niacinamide's established brightening or barrier-supporting role), or the product's official INCI ingredient listing and labeled SPF rating.
We do not publish vague, unqualified superlatives such as "the best," "guaranteed results," or "clinically proven" unless the manufacturer has provided us with the underlying study or data supporting that specific wording, and we remove such language where no substantiation has been supplied. Subjective enthusiasm ("we love this toner") is presented as our own opinion and is never phrased as a factual, measurable outcome.
Testimonials, Reviews & Before/After Imagery
Customer testimonials, star ratings, and any "before and after" photography shown on myfior.com reflect a genuine individual customer's or reviewer's own experience with a specific product. We do not fabricate testimonials, and we do not attribute a quote or photo to a customer who did not provide it. Because skin type, genetics, climate, and consistency of use all affect outcomes, results shown in any testimonial or image are individual results and are not a guarantee that every customer will see the same or similar outcome; we say so directly wherever such content is displayed.
Where a testimonial was provided in exchange for a free product, discount, or other incentive, we disclose that connection next to the testimonial in line with FTC endorsement guidance. We do not edit a customer's words to strengthen a claim beyond what they actually said, and we remove any testimonial we later learn was inaccurate or misleading.
Influencer, Affiliate & Sponsored Content Disclosure
When MYFIOR works with an influencer, blog contributor, or affiliate partner to promote a product — including the beauty writers who contribute to our Blog — any post that includes free products, payment, or an affiliate commission is clearly labeled with a disclosure such as "Advertisement," "Sponsored," "Gifted," or "Affiliate Link," placed where a reader will see it before engaging with the content, in line with the FTC's Endorsement Guides and its Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.
We require partners to describe their own honest experience with a product rather than reciting marketing copy we provide verbatim, and we prohibit any partner from making a drug, disease, or unsubstantiated claim on our behalf. If you see sponsored content about MYFIOR that is not properly disclosed, please report it to [email protected].
Pricing, Discounts & Promotional Claims Accuracy
Every strikethrough or "was/now" price shown on our Site reflects a price at which the product was genuinely offered for sale on myfior.com for a reasonable period beforehand — we do not invent an inflated "original" price solely to manufacture the appearance of a discount. Percentage-off badges, flash-sale banners, and countdown timers reflect real, time-bound promotions, and once a promotion ends the listed price reverts to the standard price rather than silently remaining discounted under a new label.
Shipping costs, applicable sales tax, and any other mandatory charges are disclosed to the customer before checkout is completed, and the price shown in an ad or listing matches the price charged at checkout absent a documented, time-stamped price change. Full detail on how we structure and disclose pricing appears in our Pricing & Promotions Policy and Billing Practices & Payment Policy.
Authenticity & Country-of-Origin Claims
MYFIOR advertises itself as a source of authentic, original Korean beauty products sourced directly from the brands themselves or from vetted, authorized wholesale distributors. We make this claim because we do not knowingly purchase inventory from unauthorized "grey market" resellers, and we do not sell counterfeit goods. Where we describe a product as "imported directly from Korea" or similar, that statement reflects our actual supply chain for that item at the time of listing.
Ingredient (INCI) lists, country-of-manufacture information, and other label content shown on a product page are taken from the manufacturer's own packaging or official documentation; we do not translate, summarize, or edit this content in a way that changes its factual meaning. If a product arrives with packaging or an ingredient list that differs materially from what our listing shows, we ask customers to notify us at [email protected] so we can investigate the specific batch and correct the listing if needed.
Prohibited & Restricted Advertising Practices
To keep every advertisement we run clear, honest, and de-risked for both customers and regulators, MYFIOR does not use any of the following in its marketing:
- Claims that a product treats, cures, or prevents a named disease or medical condition (see Section 4).
- Manufactured urgency such as false "only 2 left in stock" counters, fake countdown timers unconnected to a real promotion, or fabricated "X people are viewing this" notices.
- Bait-and-switch listings, where an advertised item is unavailable and a customer is redirected to a different, higher-priced product without clear disclosure.
- Deceptive or exaggerated weight-loss, body-reshaping, or permanent-anti-aging claims for any skincare or body-care product.
- Misleading use of the word "free" where a purchase, subscription, or hidden condition is actually required to obtain the item.
- Any advertisement, landing page, or checkout flow that misrepresents itself as belonging to a different, unaffiliated business, or that requests payment information through an insecure or unverified channel.
- Automatically enrolling a customer in a recurring subscription or membership through an advertisement without clear, conspicuous disclosure of the recurring charge and cancellation terms.
Where any of the above appears in error on our Site or in an active campaign, we correct or remove it promptly upon discovery.
Comparative Advertising & Competitor References
When MYFIOR content compares one product against another — for instance, a blog guide comparing two moisturizers for oily skin, or a "similar to" note pointing a customer toward an alternative when an item is out of stock — the comparison is based on publicly available, verifiable information such as published ingredient lists, price, and size, and is presented as our own editorial assessment rather than an implied endorsement by the compared brand.
We do not disparage a competing retailer or brand with false or unsubstantiated statements, and we do not use a competitor's trademark in a way likely to confuse a customer about the source of our products or imply a partnership that does not exist.
Trademarks, Brand Names & Third-Party Intellectual Property
All brand names, product names, logos, and trademarks referenced in our advertising — including the brands featured on our Brands page and across our Skincare and Makeup categories — are the property of their respective owners and are used solely to identify the genuine products we sell. Use of a brand name in our ads does not imply that MYFIOR manufactures that brand, and does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or an exclusive partnership unless we state so explicitly.
Further detail on how we handle brand assets, manufacturer imagery, and our own original content is set out in our Intellectual Property & Copyright Policy.
Audience Targeting & Age-Appropriate Advertising
MYFIOR's products and advertising are directed at a general adult and adolescent skincare and beauty audience. We do not knowingly target advertising exclusively at children under 13, and our ad campaigns are configured to exclude that audience where the advertising platform provides age-targeting controls. Purchases on the Site are intended to be made by individuals who are 18 years of age or older, or by a parent or guardian purchasing on behalf of a minor.
Where a product contains an active ingredient commonly advised against for certain groups — such as high-percentage exfoliating acids, retinol-based treatments, or specific essential oils — our advertising for that product does not target pregnant or nursing individuals with results-oriented claims, and the relevant precaution is disclosed on the product page itself.
Review & Rating Integrity
Star ratings and written reviews displayed next to a product on myfior.com are collected only from customers who have interacted with the Site, and we do not purchase, fabricate, or copy reviews from unrelated sources to inflate a product's rating. Negative and neutral reviews are not suppressed or deleted simply because they are unfavorable; we only remove a review where it contains content that violates ordinary standards of decency, contains no relevant product feedback, or was independently confirmed to be fraudulent.
Where a review was left in exchange for an incentive such as a discount code or loyalty points, that connection is disclosed alongside the review consistent with FTC guidance described in Section 6.
State-Specific Advertising Law Notices
MYFIOR advertises to, and ships exclusively within, the United States. Because state-level advertising and consumer protection standards vary, the notices below apply in addition to, not instead of, this policy in its entirety, and to the federal FTC Act standards that apply nationwide.
California
As our home state, California's False Advertising Law (Business & Professions Code §17500) and Unfair Competition Law (§17200) govern our advertising practices most directly, prohibiting untrue or misleading statements in connection with the sale of goods. Where a cosmetic product carries a Proposition 65 warning supplied by its manufacturer, we display that warning on the relevant product page rather than in a separate advertisement.
New York
New York General Business Law Article 22-A prohibits deceptive acts and practices, and Section 350 prohibits false advertising in the conduct of business. We do not make claims in advertising directed at New York residents that would mislead a reasonable consumer about a product's ingredients, origin, or expected results.
Texas
The Texas Deceptive Trade Practices–Consumer Protection Act (DTPA) prohibits false, misleading, or deceptive acts in advertising and trade. Texas residents retain all remedies available under the DTPA with respect to any advertisement they view from MYFIOR.
Florida
The Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) applies to our advertising and sales practices toward Florida residents, including standards for truthful pricing and promotional claims.
Washington
The Washington Consumer Protection Act (CPA) prohibits unfair or deceptive acts in advertising and commerce. We do not condition any promotional offer on a customer waiving rights available under the CPA.
All Other States
If you reside in a state not listed above, you retain all consumer protection and false-advertising rights afforded to you under the laws of your state of residence. Nothing in this policy limits those statutory rights.
Reporting a Concern & Updates to This Policy
If you believe an advertisement, listing, or piece of promotional content published by MYFIOR contains an inaccurate, misleading, or unsubstantiated claim, please contact our support team at [email protected] or call +1 650-284-1881 with a link or screenshot of the content in question. We review every report, respond during our published business hours, and correct or remove any advertisement found to be inaccurate. We may revise this Advertisement Claims Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our product catalog, advertising channels, or applicable law. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, and we encourage you to review this page periodically.
